Newport News, Va. –Drexel men's tennis lost a tough 4-2 match to Hofstra in the opening round of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament at Huntington Park. Hofstra took two of the three doubles matches then clinched the match with three singles wins. The loss ended Drexel season as the Dragons finished 7-9.

Omar Laalej (Meknes, Morocco) teamed with Joe Koebele (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) to win at No. 1 doubles but the Pride won the other two doubles matches to take the point. Laalej then made quick work of Luka Djordjevic at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Senior Michael Keefe (Brewster, Mass./Nauset Regional) won at No. 6 singles in his final match as a Dragon with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Hofstra proved to be too much, however, as the Pride swept singles matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles to advance.
